Marzio Strassoldo di Graffembergo, Professor of Statistics, was Rector of the University of Udine from 1992 to 2001. This volume collects the contributions that some colleagues and friends wanted to dedicate to him on the anniversary of his disappearance, with the aim of retracing the variety of its scientific and cultural interests. It is therefore not a celebratory or historical volume but a real Festschrift, offered, according to the propensities of individual researchers, in honor and remembrance of the scholar.
