Alberto Felice De Toni

Alberto Felice De Toni is the Scientific Director of CUOA Business School.

He was born in 1955 in Curtarolo (PD). After graduating from scientific high school, he obtained the magna cum laude degree in Chemical Engineering and the PhD in Industrial Innovation Science at the University of Padua.

He is currently full professor of Economic-Management Engineering and teaches "Operations Management" and "Management of Complex Systems" within the degree course of Management Engineering. He also is President of the Steering Committee of Scuola Superiore a Ordinamento Speciale della Difesa, Scientific Coordinator of the Feltrinelli Education School of Complexity, President of the Independent Performance Evaluation Body of the Istituto Superiore della Sanità and member of the Academia Europæa. 

He was Magnificent Rector of the University of Udine from October 2013 to September 2019, President of the CRUI Foundation (Conference of Italian University Rectors) from February 2019 to May 2021, Secretary General of the CRUI from November 2015 to January 2019, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, President of the MIUR National Commission for the reorganization of Technical and Professional Education, President of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Mountain Economic Development Agency, Vice President of Trieste Area Science Park and President of the Italian Association of Management Engineering, President of the CINECA Supervisory Body and member of the Strategic Steering Committee of the EUI (European University Institute).

He is the author of over 380 national and international scientific publications. The main research areas are: Operations Management, Innovation Management and Complexity Management.
